2008 NBA Championship Odds: Basketball Betting Lines

It starts Saturday with the defending NBA Champion San Antonio Spurs taking on Shaquille O'Neal and the Phoenix Suns in a rematch of their intense, controversial 2007 Western Conference semifinal series.

San Antonio, the No. 3 seed in the West, is the 4-point, -190 moneyline home favorite in Game 1. The over/under total is 194.

The Spurs are a -155 moneyline favorite to win the best-of-seven series, while the No. 6-seed Suns are a +135 underdog.

On Sunday, the No. 1 seed in the West, the Los Angeles Lakers, host the No. 8 Denver Nuggets in their Western Conference quarterfinal series. The Lakers are an 8½-point and -450 moneyline favorite, while the over/under total is 224. Los Angeles is a -600 moneyline favorite to win the series, while Denver is a +400 underdog.

In the Eastern Conference, the top-seeded Boston Celtics – the top team in the NBA – are a 15-point favorite against the No. 8 Atlanta Hawks in Game 1 of their first-round series. Boston is a whopping -8000 favorite to win the series, while Atlanta is +4000.

Other matchups on Saturday feature the No. 4 Cleveland Cavaliers battling the No. 5 Washington Wizards in Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series, West No. 2 New Orleans Hornets hosting the No. 7 Dallas Mavericks, and West No. 4 Utah Jazz facing the No. 5 Houston Rockets.

The Cavaliers are a 2-point and -130 moneyline favorite in the opener, while the total is 188. Cleveland is a slim (-115) favorite to win the series.

The Hornets are favored by 4½ points (-200 moneyline) over the Mavericks, with the total at 193. New Orleans is -150 to win the series.

Houston is a slim, 1-point home favorite over Utah and the total is 187. But the Rockets are a +185 underdog to win the series, while the Jazz are a -225 favorite.
